Antonia Lofaso

Antonia Lofaso's cuisine is an invitation to explore what lies within her. The food she serves evokes interest that was born from the moment she stepped out of the suburban areas of Long Island and into the culturally diverse environment that is Los Angeles. Carnitas and Cavatellis in the same dish is what she believes in. But what remains is her distinctive view of the future, while looking back to the old. Scopa Italian Roots was opened in 2013 by Lofaso, who is inspired with her Italian American roots. The restaurant was greeted with an enthusiastic reception. Lofaso's rendition of old school Italian cuisine is one of the most sought-after restaurants in Los Angeles. The restaurant serves delicious and consistent dishes at Scopa it is a local favorite. Its patrons describe it as authentic and satiating. Lofaso studied from chefs with sophisticated cooking techniques. But, she did not fear taking extraordinary risk to follow her instincts. She quickly climbed the ranks at Wolfgang Puck's Spago and then went on to transform various high-profile kitchens in Los Angeles while working closely with many high-profile celebrities. Lofaso launched Black Market Liquor Bar with Sal Aurora and Mario Guddemi in Studio City, California. Through Black Market and the business alliances she created, Lofaso was able to find her place to call home. Lofaso could find the space to express her creativity that she wanted through the collaboration. Black Market does not have any one specific direction, that's the intention. A course might begin with chips of dill potato and shishito peppers, followed by the lobster roll Korean wings and a variety of meatballs. What binds this diverse array of flavors is Antonia. Lofaso assessed her success in the field by her capacity to both understand and be genuine to her audience. Her unforgettable performance on Top Chef Chicago and Top Chef: All Stars highlighted her uniqueness outside of the kitchen and her talents continue to shine in front of the camera as an expert Judge on the CNBC's Restaurant Startup as well as in recurring appearances on Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child and ABC's Real O'neals. Lofaso teamed with Penguin for the release of The Busy mom's Cookbook 100 recipes for quick Delicious Home Cooked Meals in 2012. This cookbook also tells about the struggles she faced when raising Xea and pursuing her studies at her school, the French Culinary Institute. Lofaso states that the reason for her achievements originates from her kitchen. This is the way she keeps a pulse of the latest happenings. With her Chefletics brand, she is changing the look of her industry by re-designing clothing for chefs that is stylish and also serves a practicality. Lofaso is determined to stay true to her vision and clients. The brand she has developed is Antonia Lofaso Catering to help achieve that.
